113 career options to pursue after class XII
NEW DELHI: With an aim to help students in exploring new courses to pursue after class XII, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a list of STEM as well as non-STEM courses under the umbrella of the 'student-friendly' initiatives. The crucial information about the new age courses such as Aeronautical Engineering, Metallurgy, Meteorology, Robotics, Cyber Security, Forestry , Curation, Museology, Actuarial Sciences, Liberal Studies etc. has also been published at the official portal of 
CBSE cbse.nic.in.


"The CBSE has prepared a compendium of suggestive courses for students to help them get information about various course choices, institutes and combinations available in higher education," said Anita Karwal, chairperson, CBSE, in an official statement.



The list consists of 113 career options after class XII that includes, AI and Machine Learning, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Floriculture /Horticulture, Fisheries, Speech Language and Hearing, Costs and Works Accounts, Instrumentation Engineering, Food Technology, Oceanography, Siddha, Unani, Monuments And Sculpture Restoration, Special Educator etc."The purpose of this compendium is to generate enough curiosity in the students to explore the scope, possibilities, avenues, for each of these courses and to look for other options beyond these courses as well," said Karwal. The compendium contains information about 900 universities and over 41,000 colleges in India along with their eligibility criteria and the list of various courses.

JNU admission process to begin March 15

Announcing the admissions, Director of Admissions Deepak Gaur said, “The seat intake across all programs for this academic year is 3,383, including 1,043 for MPhil and PhD courses.” JNU will begin registrations for admissions to its 2019-20 batch from March 15. Students will have a month for registration, following which entrance examinations will be held from May 27-30. The National Testing Agency (NTA), which is conducting the online entrance test — a first for JNU — will upload the e-prospectus and other details on its website on March 15.
